Clients – United Properties and Watercrest Senior Living Group
United and Watercrest joined forces to bring upscale Assisted Living and a new care model of Memory Support to Naples Florida.
Residents and visitors arrive under a cantilevered porte cochere to allow three cars to stack in tandem, allowing other cars to bypass and avoid pressuring residents as they get in and out of vehicles. AL amenities include two dining venues, exhibition cooking, community room with activity kitchen, a flexible bar/coffee shop venue, arts studio, grandchildren’s playroom, screened-in porches, fitness room and an outdoor pool. AL apartments include independent-living-like features such as washer/dryer appliances in the room, walk-in closets and balconies.
Memory Support focuses on a multi-use indoor “streetscape” environment to stimulate resident senses and encourage exploration. The residential household connects at each end of ‘Market Street’ to create a contiguous ambulation loop and help with resident orientation through two distinct residential home ‘Fronts.’ The household itself contains a residentially scaled and detailed dining room, living room, country kitchen and a flexible room centered on an ‘Its Never Too Late’ multi-media system. Corridors provide more than just circulation; they also encourage stimulation and exploration with the inclusion of Life Skills Stations and “Shop Windows.” The secure sensory garden is open to all memory support residents with a contiguous loop (no dead ends) and multiple areas for seating and shade.
